Workshop: The Art & Science of Music

Presented by Greater Flint Arts Council and African Drum and Dance Parent Association and Kuungana African Drum and Dance Parent Association at St. Paul's Episcopal Church

Discover the magic of STEAM through rhythm, movement, and creativity. Taught by highly acclaimed artist Kevin “Baba” Collins  and members of African Drum and Dance Parent Association “ADDPA”.  Kevin was recently highlight by ABC12’s Portraits of Excellence for his talents and commitment to enhancing community life.  This workshop will highlight STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) as part of the learning process.

In this hands-on workshop, participants (all ages) will build their own musical instrument to play and take home!  This free workshop is brought to you by the Greater Flint Arts Council “GFAC” and conducted by the African Drum and Dance Parent Association “ADDPA”.   Workshop and light refreshments are provided by GFAC partners.  Participants can bring their own lunch or enjoy local restaurants during break.
