Those Gorgeous, Glamorous Girl Groups is a tribute musical play to those great girl groups of the past.

In Those Gorgeous, Glamorous Girl Groups, the musical play, McCree Theatre pays tribute to the great girl groups of the past, especially those early groups that blazed a trail for the tidal wave of girl groups that followed. We pay homage to the Cookies, the Chantels, the Shirelles, the Marvelettes and many others, from the 1950’s to 2000. The play also discusses the intersection of their music with the struggle for the liberation of Black people in this country. The play features a collection of some of the greatest voices in the Greater Flint Area volunteering their amazing gifts on behalf of the Greater Flint Community.
