Motherly Intercession

Motherly Intercession is an organization that has provided services for children and families impacted by incarceration in Genesee County since 1999.

Our services include:

•  Reading and Counting to Success (RACS) an afterschool tutorial program

• Strengthening Incarcerated Families (SIF) a program that emphasizes stress reduction techniques for dealing with the stress that is associated with incarceration

• Incarcerated Family Resource Center (FRC) a place where incarcerated families can receive concrete and social support, build family resiliency and identify other community resources that are available to help their family.

• MI Bridges- Department Human Services- Clients can call Motherly Intercession to make an appointment to apply for food stamps, cash assistance, childcare, and emergency assistance.

• Healthcare Insurance Coverage- in partnership with the Genesee Health Plans our staff will help incarcerated families identify healthcare insurance options available and assist them with the enrollment process
