Join the Warnerettes Parasol Drill Team as they march for women’s votes at the Whaley Historic House!
The Whaley Historic House Museum will host the Warnerettes Parsol Drill Team, a thematic historical interpretive group that reenacts early late 19th, and early 20th-century suffragettes on June 15th during open tours (11 am-2 pm). During this FREE event, guests will be encouraged to make their own suffragette picket signs (the museum will provide the crafting materials) and rally with the reenactors. This educational event will highlight Michigan’s role in the suffragette movement, as well as Governor Warner, who championed the cause. Light refreshments will be provided, however, guests are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to eat on the lawn with the suffragettes.
