Flyer for Silent Movie Night
The Whaley Historic House Museum will be hosting a silent film screening in the formal parlor, popcorn and a beverage are included.
In the 1920s, silent films had become one of the most popular entertainment mediums. The Whaley Historic House Museum is excited to kick off our very own silent film screening series on Friday the 18th at 6:30 PM with a showing of the 1927 epoch “The King of Kings”. This film highlights the extraordinary technological advancements made in the film industry throughout the 1920s, showcasing elaborate set designs, magnificent costumes, and (for the period) state-of-the-art film effects.
The film runs roughly 2 and a half hours, and just like audiences would have experienced 100 years ago, there will be an intermission.
